B.A.S.E. Jumping
B.A.S.E. Jumping is jumping from a fixed object with a parachute.
B.A.S.E. is an acronym for Building, Antenna, Span (bridge), and Earth.
BASE jumping has been around since the 60s when skydivers were looking for a little more thrill than just jumping from airplanes with parachutes.
BASE jumping is done from lower altitudes and using a single parachute system.
Most BASE jumpers will start their training for BASE jumping by learning to skydive, doing 100s of jumping honing their skills in freefall and canopy piloting, understanding gear and packing techniques. Then they can take a course or find a mentor to start learning how to BASE jump.
