Frequently asked questions.

-Do I need any experience?

No, you don’t need any experience to make a Tandem BASE jump. We will teach you everything you need to know to make a Tandem BASE jump.

-What should I bring?

Depending on which exit point we choose will change how much we will bring with us for the hike. For all exit points you will need a water bottle that can crush into a pocket to jump down with us. For Gudvangen and Kjerag you might want to bring a snack/small lunch. Flåm is not so long of a hike that you need to bring snacks but something small like a granola bar is ok to bring.

-What should I wear?

Good hiking shoes, and you will want to dress for the weather. For Gudvangen and Kjerag you might like to have a light jacket for being on top of the mountain before the jump.

-How long does it take?

Each jump has a different time to hike up.
Flåm can be between 2 and 3.5 hours.
Gudvangen can be between 4 to 5 hours.
Kjerag can be between 4 to 5 hours if we are hiking.
During Heliboogie estimate 2 hours.

-Do I need a helmet?

It is not a requirement to wear a helmet but we do recommend one. You can bring your own helmet or we can provide a helmet for you.

-What if I don’t want to jump?

We will do what we can to build up your confidence during training and move at a comfortable pace if you need to take some time to prepare yourself to jump. It is ultimately up to you and if you decide that you do not want to jump then we will hike back down together.

-Can I jump alone?

In order to attend a BASE course and learn to BASE jump on your own you first need to train by skydiving. Once you have made a minimum of 200 solo licensed skydives you can sign up for a BASE course and learn to BASE jump. If you are interested in learning to skydive we can suggest different skydiving centers close to your location or you can contact Skydive Voss about attending a Skydiving AFF course. We are happy to help you start your journey to becoming a solo skydiver and BASE jumper.

-Is there a weight limit?

Our weight limit is maximum 95 kgs or 210 lbs.

-Is there a height limit?

Our maximum height limit is 5’9’’ or 175 cm

-What if the weather is bad?

After you book a date for your jump we will check the weather a couple days before your scheduled  jump date and again the day before the jump. If the weather does not look suitable for the jump then we will pick another date that works for everyone. The weather in Norway can be quite difficult so we will do what we can to accommodate everyone that books.

-When does the season start and end?

As long as it is not too cold and the exit point is not frozen then we can BASE jump. Depending on how cold and snowy it is during winter will dictate when we can and can not safely make Tandem BASE jumps.

-When do I pay?

You will pay for the jump after the jump. If we do not jump you do not pay for anything.
